Dr Deitch is an experienced hand and upper extremity surgeon and awardwinning instructor who coholds a patent for a variable loadbearing orthopaedic wrist fracture brace He has advanced expertise in hand and microvascular surgery upper extreme trauma elbow surgery and surgical treatment of arthritis in the shoulder elbow and hand Before coming to OrthoMaryland in 2008 Dr Deitch managed his own orthopaedic practice MD3 Orthopaedics in Baltimore From 2001 through 2006 he served as attending surgeon in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and chief of hand and microvascular surgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center He is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine From 1999 through 2001 he was an attending at University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowly Shock Trauma Center performing hand microvascular and upper extremity trauma surgery He also served as director of the orthopaedic residency training program from 1999 through 2001 Over the course of his career he has copresented research findings at numerous professional association meetings including the American Society
